出埃及记-Exodus 第 2 章

2:1有一个利未家的人，娶了一个利未女子为妻。
And a man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as wife.
2:2那女人怀孕，生了一个儿子；见他俊美，就把他藏了三个月；
And the woman conceived and bore a son; and when she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months.
2:3后来不能再藏，就取了一个蒲草箱，抹上石漆和柏油，将孩子放在里面，把箱子搁在河边的芦苇中。
And when she could no longer hide him, she took for him a papyrus basket and plastered it with tar and pitch; and she put the child in it and placed it among the reeds on the bank of the River.
2:4孩子的姐姐远远站着，要知道他究竟会怎样。
And his sister stood at a distance to find out what would happen to him.
2:5法老的女儿下到河边洗澡，她的使女们在河边行走。她看见那箱子在芦苇中，就打发婢女去拿来。
And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the River while her maidens walked alongside the River. And she saw the basket in the midst of the reeds and sent her female servant, and she brought it to her.
2:6她打开箱子，看见那孩子。孩子哭了，她就怜惜他，说，这是希伯来人的一个孩子。
And she opened it and saw the child, and there was the boy, weeping. And she had compassion on him and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
2:7那时孩子的姐姐对法老的女儿说，我去在希伯来妇人中叫一个奶妈来，为你奶这孩子，可以不可以？
Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call a nurse from the Hebrew women for you that she may nurse the child for you?
2:8法老的女儿说，去罢。童女就去叫了孩子的母亲来。
And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the girl went and called the child's mother.
2:9法老的女儿对她说，你把这孩子抱去，为我奶他，我必给你工价。妇人就抱了孩子去奶他。
And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages. So the woman took the child and nursed him.
2:10孩子渐长，妇人把他带到法老的女儿那里，就作了她的儿子。她给孩子起名叫摩西，说，因我把他从水里拉出来。
And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses and said, Because I drew him out of the water.
2:11后来，摩西长大，出去到他弟兄那里，看他们所受的重担；他见一个埃及人打一个希伯来人，他的一个弟兄。
And in those days, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his brothers and looked on their burdens; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brothers.
2:12他左右观看，见没有人，就把那埃及人打死了，藏在沙土里。
And he looked this way and that, and when he saw that there was no one there, he struck the Egyptian down and hid him in the sand.
2:13第二天他出去，见有两个希伯来人争斗，就对那欺负人的说，你为什么打你同族的人？
And he went out the next day, and there were two Hebrew men struggling together; and he said to the one who was in the wrong, Why are you beating your companion?
2:14那人说，谁立你作我们的首领和审判官呢？难道你想要杀我，像杀那埃及人么？摩西便惧怕，说，这事必是被人知道了。
And he said, Who appointed you a ruler and a judge over us? Are you thinking to kill me as you killed the Egyptian? And Moses became frightened and said, Surely the matter is known.
2:15法老听见这事，就想要杀摩西；但摩西逃避法老，去米甸地居住。
Now when Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh to dwell in the land of Midian, and he sat down by a well.
2:16一日，他在井旁坐下。米甸的祭司有七个女儿；她们来打水，打满了槽，要给父亲的群羊喝水。
Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came and drew water and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.
2:17有牧羊的人来，把她们赶走，摩西却起来帮助她们，又给她们的群羊喝了水。
And the shepherds came and drove them away, but Moses rose up and helped them and watered their flock.
2:18她们回到父亲流珥那里；他说，今日你们为何这么快就回来？
And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, Why have you come back so quickly today?
2:19她们说，有一个埃及人救我们脱离牧羊人的手，并且还为我们打水给群羊喝。
And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and he even drew water for us as well and watered the flock.
2:20他对女儿们说，那个人在那里？你们为什么撇下他呢？你们去请他来吃饭。
And he said to his daughters, And where is he? Why did you leave the man? Invite him to eat a meal.
2:21摩西甘心和那人同住；那人把他的女儿西坡拉给摩西为妻。
And Moses agreed to stay with the man, and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
2:22西坡拉生了一个儿子，摩西给他起名叫革舜，因为他说，我在异地作了寄居的。
And she bore a son, and he called his name Gershom, for he said, I have been a sojourner in a foreign land.
2:23过了许久，埃及王死了。以色列人因受奴役，就叹息哀号，他们的哀声上达于神。
And in the course of those many days the king of Egypt died, and the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage. And they cried out, and their cry went up to God because of their bondage.
2:24神听见他们的哀叹，就记念祂与亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立的约。
And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
2:25神看顾以色列人，也知道他们的苦情。
And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God took notice of them.
